German Pellets Woodville, Texas/US, has been certified according to the standards of SFI Fiber Sourcing and PEFC Chain of Custody in April. "For our pellet production we only use raw materials from controlled sources and sustainably managed forests," says German Pellets spokeswoman Claudia Rohr, who also emphasizes that seeing sustainability standards in forestry and processing met in the exporting country is a definite purchase criterion for European customers. In 2013, pellets produced in Woodville had already been certified according to EN-plus.

With an annual capacity pf 580,000 t, Woodville is the largest pellet factory within the German Pellets Group. This year should also see the start-up of the operation in Urania where 3,000 tons of pellets are to be made ready for transportation per day.
