Reduced cutting impacts supply of sawmill by-products
Decrease more pronounced at sawmills in northern Austria than in the south
In April, the supply of sawmill by-products in Austria decreased – a development that is expected to continue in May. Processing companies remain dependent on an increased use of industrial wood. Inventories of the pulp industry are low, often lasting only 14 days. Four weeks ago, inventories still enabled production for 18 to 20 days.
