Iran crisis has a direct and indirect impact on the timber industry
Substantial upswing still on-hold
The Iran crisis is costing the Central European timber industry dearly. The memory of the not so bad 1st quarter has now been erased because the upturn in demand and prices did not occur in April. The price increases for all petroleum-based goods are not only increasing freight costs, but also the prices of films, adhesives and similar products. In addition, there is the creeping infiltration of "Gulf quantities" into other markets.
