Sawdust index continues its upward trend

In February, the price indices for sawdust and wood chips increased month on month. Nevertheless, they remained well below the levels recorded in February 2024.

For the month of February 2025, the Austrian Timber Industry Association reports a sawdust price index of 394.3% (base: January 2001 = 100%). Compared to January, the index value was up by 4.8 percentage points. Year on year, however, it fell by 27.8 points.

At 208.4%, the price index for wood chips was only slightly higher (+0.6 points) than in January and well below the value recorded in February 2024 (-24.1 points).
