In an interview with the magazine NTT, Hedin clarified that the construction division is no longer for sale. The reason for this reversal was apparently an offer in which Hedin believed the new owner would not continue the business in the spirit of his company’s values.
However, Hedin still intends to sell the sawmills and the packaging division. He remains confident that an agreement can be reached within the next six months.

According to several Swedish media reports, company head Karl Hedin has commissioned the Swedish financial institution Handelsbanken to find buyers for the sawmill division, the construction business, and the packaging industry. No details were provided regarding the asked price.
In addition to three sawmills in Sweden, Karl Hedin operates the Toftan 1 and 2 sawmills in Estonia. In 2021, the Timber Trades Journal estimated the total capacity of the sawmill division at 700,000 m³ per year. According to Nordic Market Data, a market analysis firm specializing in Scandinavia, the division generated turover amounted to 1.6 billion SEK (€148 million) in 2023.
Karl Hedin’s construction business operates more than 50 branches, according to the Sweden Herald. In 2023, its turnover amounted to 3.2 billion SEK (€289 million), as reported by Nordic Market Data.
