In July, the price index of solid wood for pallets is at 366.8% (base: 01/2005 =100%) and thus increased by 1% compared to June, as the German wood packaging, pallet and export packaging association (HPE) reports. In July 2023, the index value was at 309.9%.
The price index of solid wood for packaging fell by 0.4% month on month to 202.1%. Last year, an index value of 198.1% was reported.
For plywood, the HPE reports an index value of 196.9% in July and thus an increase of 2.8% compared to June. Compared to July 2023 (210.3%), the price index fell by 13.4 percentage points. OSB for packaging saw a month-on-month increase of 1% to a value of 97.8% this month (July 2023: 106.9%).
