The power plant will help Egger secure its own heat and electricity supply in the production site over the long term. It will also feed more waste heat into the district heating network © Egger

Egger’s goal is to significantly increase the use of renewable energy, which the company plans to achieve with a new power plant. With the help of a steam boiler and a combined heat and power system powered by biogenic fuel, this plant will provide both heat and electricity for the company’s own production processes. As a result, the production site in St. Johann in Tirol will become largely independent of fossil fuels. To be precise, Egger will be able to cover at least 80% of its own electricity consumption at the plant in St. Johann in Tirol.

Construction will start in spring. The new power plant is scheduled to go into operation in the first quarter of 2026.
