Japan: Fewer and fewer housing construction starts

The Japanese construction industry continues its downward trend. Only 484,000 housing construction starts were recorded in the first eight months of this year. That is an 8% decrease compared to the same period of 2024.

Now, the number of construction projects has reached a historic low. Never before since records began have there been so few new buildings in Japan.
