Gulf region: Softwood lumber deliveries down by a third

The Gulf region had to massively reduce its softwood lumber imports in the first half of 2026. The hostilities in Iran and the associated de-facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz for (container) ships are having a major impact. The Holzkurier found that the market volume decreased by 500,000 m³ (-33%) year on year to 1.06 million m³.
