Disappointed expectations, sales promotions until July
Beech sawmills report a slight recovery of the market in June
Article by Michael Fehrle (translated by Eva Guzely) | 21.07.2026 - 09:27
Even though there have been some positive signs since June, beech sawmills are still not seeing a real improvement in sales. Both delivery volumes and order intake remain below the long-term average. Expectations for a recovery in China, the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and an end to price concessions did not materialize in July. At least inquiries for deliveries after the summer holidays have recently increased significantly. Some sawmills are therefore somewhat more optimistic about business in the autumn.
