Finland exported 8.45 million m³ of softwood lumber and planed timber from January to November 2025, an increase of 13% or more than 940,000 m³ compared to the same period in 2024. At 8.6 million m³ after eleven months, exports were last higher in 2017.
Finnish Customs recorded a decline in only one country last year: China (–5% to 433,000 m³). Shipments to all other destinations increased. Finland was able to increase softwood lumber exports to all other countries. In the main market, Egypt, deliveries increased by 11% year-on-year to 1.25 million m³ from January to November 2025. There were also significant growth rates to Great Britain (+30% to 782,000 m³) and Estonia (+24% to 741,000 m³), for example.
As always, the detailed development of Finnish softwood lumber exports can be found in the Datacube.
