Tariffs to be introduced on hardwood lumber exports to the US

On December 3, the European Organisation of the Sawmill Industry (EOS) confirmed that a 15% tariff will be levied on hardwood lumber shipments to the USA.

The EOS consulted with the Directorate-General for Trade of the European Commission on this matter. Previously, differing information and experience reports existed within the EOS Hardwood Working Group. The EOS office in Brussels was therefore tasked with clarifying the situation.
