Swedish lumber price index falls slightly

In June, the Swedish softwood lumber price index had reached the highest level so far this year. In August, it fell for the second consecutive month.

In August, the Swedish softwood lumber price index reached 154.4% (base: 2020 = 100%), according to Statistics Sweden. Compared to July, it fell by 1.7 percentage points. Compared to August 2024, however, it gained 12.4 points. When you take a look at the Datacube timeline, which goes back to the year 1990, you can see that the Swedish lumber price index has been at a much higher level in the past four years than in the previous three decades.
