At group level, West Fraser’s adjusted EBITDA reached US-$84 million in the second quarter, corresponding to 6% of the revenue generated. In the first quarter, adjusted EBITDA of US-$195 million were reported. For comparison: In the second quarter of 2024, US-$1.705 billion in sales were generated, and adjusted EBITDA amounted to US-$272 million.

In the North America Engineered Wood Products (NA EWP) segment, West Fraser achieved adjusted EBITDA of US-$68 million. The Pulp & Paper segment recorded a slightly negative result of -US-$1 million. In the Europe EWP segment, adjusted EBITDA was US-$2 million.

Over the medium term, West Fraser expects stable demand in North America. A younger generation of buyers, an aging housing stock, and stable interest rates should support new housing construction activity as well as renovations and maintenance.

In the EU and the United Kingdom, demand is expected to remain subdued over the short term. However, West Fraser sees long-term potential due to an increased use of OSB, high demand for renovation of existing buildings, and the prospect of favorable interest rates. Despite geopolitical risks, the group remains confident.
