Smaller volumes of softwood lumber exported

603,000 m³ (+10%) were exported to Egypt, Finland’s number one buyer of softwood lumber. Shipments to Japan increased by 25% to 439,000 m³. Exports to Estonia were up by 3% and amounted to 368,000 m³ in the first seven months.

Finnish Customs reports decreases in softwood lumber exports to Great Britain (397,000 m³; -10%), China (308,000 m³; -7%), France (272,000 m³; -15%) and Germany (264,000 m³; -8%). 199,000 m³ of softwood lumber were shipped to Israel in the first seven months. Here, a decrease of around one fifth was recorded.
