After a thorough review of operating conditions, including the ongoing challenge in log supply, continued financial losses, weak lumber markets and increased U.S. tariffs, Canfor Corporation announced on September 4th the closure of its Plateau and Fort St. John mills in northern British Colbumbia. About 500 employees are affected by these closures. This will reduce the group's annual production capacity by 670 million bft (1.075 million m³/y; 2-by-4 equivalent).
