Lumber price index slightly up

In February, the Swedish lumber price index increased slightly both compared to the previous month and to the same period of last year.

Statistics Sweden reports a lumber price index of 129.6% (base: 2020 = 100%) for the month of February. Compared to January, the index value increased slightly by 1.6 percentage points. Compared to February 2023, it was up by 6 percentage points.

In February 2022, the lumber price index was at nearly 160% and thus at a much higher level. One year earlier, in February 2021, Statistics Sweden identified an index value of 117.4%. In the same month of 2020, the price index was at 96.5%, as you can see in the Datacube.
