Lumber price index with a minimal month-on-month decrease

In August, the Swedish lumber price index fell slightly compared to the previous month. Compared to August of the past years, however, there are significant differences – both in a positive and negative sense.

Statistic Sweden reports a lumber price index of 128.7% for the month of August (base: 2020 = 100%). Compared to July, the index value fell slightly by 1.2 percentage points.

A look at the past few years shows how much the price index can fluctuate over the years. In August 2020, the index value was at 98.5%. A year later, in August 2021, it peaked at 202.7%. In August 2022, the Swedish lumber price index was at 154.9%.
