In 2022, China imported 17.3 million m³ of softwood lumber, recording a 10% decrease compared to the previous year. Imports from Russia fell by 8% to 11.9 million m³, while those from Canada decreased by nearly 20%, bringing the total to only 1.3 million m³.
More softwood lumber was imported from Finland (882,000 m³; +33%), Sweden (657,000 m³; +66%), Belarus (625,000 m³; +36%) and Germany (568,000 m³; +20%).
