China with decreasing softwood lumber imports

In the first six months, China imported 8.25 million m³ of softwood lumber, i.e. 6% less than in the same period of last year. While imports from Russia remained more or less constant at 5.54 million m³ (+2%), those from Canada (710,000 m³; +37%), Finland (433,000 m³; +17%) and Sweden (282,000 m³; +29%) saw double-digit increases.

Smaller volumes of softwood lumber were imported from Belarus (234,000 m³; -8%), Ukraine (153,000 m³; -72%), Chile (151,000 m³; -36%) and Brazil (112,000 m³; -64%).
