7 million m³ decrease in softwood lumber imports

From January to October 2020, China imported 21.7 million m³ of softwood lumber, i. e. 32% more than this year. Imports from China’s main supplier Russia fell by 24.4% to 9.8 million m³. The biggest relative decrease was recorded in shipments from Canada (744,700 m³; -70.7%), followed by Sweden (317,700 m³; -61.2%) and Germany (330,700 m³; -59.5%).

According to China Customs Statistics, Brazil (427,900 m³; +42.9%) and New Zealand (335,100 m³; +30.8%) were the only supplying countries among the Top 10 which shipped more softwood lumber to China in the first ten months.
