The Argentinian joint venture is called Acon Timber. HS Timber Group will contribute with its industry expertise in wood processing and distribution. Belgian joint venture partner Forestcape has long experience in sustainable forest management in the region in which the sawmill is to be built.

The investment is said to total around USD 100 million (approx. €87 million). After the sawmill has gone into operation, the partners plan to cut 500,000 m³ of logs a year. The lumber, which is to be sold on the global market, will be dried and part of it will also be planed. Accumulating byproducts will be used for the production of pellets (EN A1plus) or sold to local power plants.

In part, the orders for machines have already been placed, for example at Linck (chipper line), Springer (log and lumber handling in the sawmill and planing plant), Microtec (scanner), Valon Kone (debarker), Gilbert (planing machine), Mahild (wood drying). The sawmill is to go into operation around June 2023.
