Sawmill turnover stable on the previous year’s level

In December 2019, the German sawmill industry recorded the same turnover as in December 2018. The full year was slightly weaker compared to 2018.

In December 2019, the German sawmill industry recorded a turnover of € 285.65 million. Compared to December 2018, there was virtually no change (€ 285.26 million). This is according to data published by Destatis.

In 2019, overall turnover amounted to around € 4.77 billion which corresponds to a decrease of 2.5% compared to 2018 (€ 4.89 million). Compared to the previous years, the German sawmill industry’s turnover was considerably higher in 2019. In 2017, turnover was at € 4.55 billion, and in 2016, it reached € 4.2 billion.
