Demand for softwood lumber in the United States increased last week according to Random Lengths' analysis. Even faster, however, was the growth rate of softwood lumber production. The result is a slight price weakness.

While up until recently, the price level had been stable (US-$445/1000 bft), last week was a slight decline to US-$440/1000 bft. With the exchange ratio unchanged, European exporters currently receive around €253/m³ (€-3/m³ within one week). One year ago, their yield was still €70/m³ more.
