Early February, the two Italian band saw manufacturers Primultini, Marano Vicentino, and Bongioanni, Envie, signed a contract according to which Primultini will incorporate the intellectual property of Bongioanni (technical know-how, brand name, business information). Company sources talk about a good deal for Primultini as Bongioanni is a well-known brand name in the realm of sawmill technology and was Primultini's main competitor in some markets. What is more, Bongioanni has developed some interesting technical solutions for circular saws or for the log placement that tie in well with Primultini-technology, they say. The two owners, Lorenzo Primultini and Riccardo Pezzolato, have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The deal renders last year’s agreement between Söderhamn Eriksson and Bongioanni null and void.

"The servicing of Bongioanni equipment already in use is guaranteed", emphasizes Primultini. A first joint project of Primultini-Bongioanni will be realised in the Häberlein sawmill in Hardthausen/DE with the installation of a band saw.
