As of October 31, J. u. A. Frischeis (JAF), Stockerau/AT, will officiall the new owner of DLH Asia and Africa, subject to clearance by the anti-trust authority. DLH has its main markets in China, Vietnam and Cameroon reaching an annual turnover of € 74 million/yr. The DLH Group is a publicly traded company that specializes in the worldwide wholesale distribution of timber and timber products. It has been owned by a Danish family for over 100 years – and therefore has some parallels to JAF: Founded in 1948 by Joseph and Antonia Frischeis, the JAF Group with 50 locations in 13 countries is today Central Europe's leading wholesale distributor of wood and wood-based materials and is to this day an owner-managed company.

"We have decided to take over DLH Asia and Africa, as we do see growth potential there for one thing. In addition, these markets are an excellent fit for our plans to expand the international scope of JAF. So far, our global sales expertise lay mainly in veneer and sawn timber – specifically hardwood. Now more product groups are to follow", says CEO Alexander Flatischler. He adds: "We see the integration of the DLH-sales regions China, Vietnam and Cameroon in our company as a great opportunity. Our customers will benefit from the global network that is ours to access after this transaction. DLH customers in these markets now have the advantage of being able to rely on decades of know-how, strong logistics and high-profile contacts of a market leader in Central and Eastern Europe. We operate representations on the spot regionally and are thus well informed about market conditions. Internationally, we now have direct access to the best procurement markets and benefit from the experience and opportunities of a global group."
