The planned area encompasses 3.6 ha with two expansion areas northwest and northeast of the existing production site. These areas are intended for storage yards and production halls for lumber and log wood. At the same time, (noise) emissions are to be reduced through a reorganization of production processes.
Talking to the Holzkurier, owner Frederik Baur explained that “the company has been trying to better consolidate the operations for almost 20 years. With the recently submitted plan, we could optimize our processes.” If the development receives the final approval, the company would effectively have square premises with sides measuring 350 meters.
Following another public consultation period, the final decision on the zoning ordinance is expected in the first quarter of 2026.
