Log and lumber price indices continue their upward trend

In November 2025, the Austrian prices indices for log wood and lumber continued to rise both month on month and year on year. The log price index saw a bigger increase.

The Austrian Timber Industry Association reports a log price index of 181.7% for the month of November 2025 (base: January 2001 = 100%). Compared to October 2025, the index increased by 3.97 percentage points. Year on year (November 2024: 153.77%), it rose by 27.93 points. It is now only 1.1 percentage points below the all-time high of 182.8% that was recorded in June 2022.

The lumber price index also showed a slight upward trend in November 2025, rising by 1.19 percentage points month on month to 185.73%. Compared to the same month in 2024, the index gained 26.01 points.
