Further increases in Europe, decrease in China

In the first nine months, Germany exported 197,000 m³ of beech logs to China, recording a year-on-year decrease of 11%. Total exports, however, grew by 12%, from 486,000 m³ in 2024 to 546,000 m³ this year.

From January to September 2024, Germany exported 221,000 m³ of beech logs to China. According to China Customs Statistics, Chinese imports from Germany totaled 237,000 m³ in the first nine months of this year (-10%).

Increases were recorded in exports to the other main foreign markets, i.e. to Austria (168,400 m³; +7%), Denmark (46,200 m³; +51%), Sweden (39,500 m³; +25%) and Belgium (38,700 m³; +549%).
