Exactly 20 years ago, an unprecedented step was taken in Germany: the establishment of the Bavarian State Forests (BaySF). Despite a rocky start, the juridical person established itself as a model for the cautious privatization of state-run forestry responsibilities. On this occasion, the Holzkurier spoke with two of the BaySF’s chairmen of the board, Dr. Rudolf Freidhager (2005 to 2015) and Martin Neumeyer (2015 to present).
