According to China Customs Statistics, France shipped 158,000 m³ (+3%) to China from January to June, defending its leadership role. 93,000 m³ of oak logs were imported from the US, China’s second most important supplier. Year on year, a marked decrease of 31% was recorded here.
Meanwhile, deliveries from Germany nearly doubled (61,000 m³; +56%). A clear upward trend can also be observed in oak log imports from Slovakia (56,000 m³; +63%), Croatia (33,000 m³; +36%) and Poland (22,000 m³; +208%). Double-digit increases were also recorded in shipments from the Czech Republic (25,000 m³; +14%), Belgium (13,000 m³; +19%) and Denmark (3,600 m³; +12%), as figures published by China Customs Statistics show.
