In 2022, the Ilim Group regained the leader position in the log harvest ranking. According to Pavel Chashchin, Director of Roslesinforg, the group’s logging volume amounted to 12.605 million m³, which corresponds to an increase of 2.6% compared to 2021. This also represents a new record level.
Nevertheless, Ilim Group’s record still falls 1.8 million m³ short of the logging volume of the previous leader, i.e. Segezha Group in 2021. Last year, Segezha came in second, with the company’s logging volume falling by 16% to 12.1 million m³.
In 2021, Segezha Group was the largest user of forest resources in Russia, with a leased forest area of 15.7 million ha and an allowable annual log harvest volume of more than 23.7 million m³.
