Pellet price with an increase in October

In October, the German pellet price remains at a low level. Compared to September, though, it did increase slightly.

According to the German Pellets Institute (DEPI), 1 t of wood pellets cost on average €279.26 in Germany and thus €5.51/t more than in September. In October 2023, an average pellet price of €369.72/t was reported. Those who use pellets for heating pay 5.59 cents per kWh. Wood pellets are around 44% cheaper than natural gas and about 41% cheaper than heating oil, as the German Wood Fuel and Pellets Association (DEPV) reports.

For 6 t of pellets, buyers pay on average €273.49/t in southern Germany, €278.87/t in central Germany and €284.73/t in the north and east of the country. A purchase quantity of 26 t costs on average €258.60/t in the south, €263.98/t in central Germany and €265.27/t in the north and east.
