In the third quarter, a total of 946,000 tons of wood pellets were produced in Germany. According to the German Pellet Institute (DEPI), this breaks the record established in the previous quarter, when 933,000 tons had been produced. Compared to the third quarter of 2021 (861,000 t), output was up by nearly 10%.
From January to September, production output totaled over 2.7 million tons, which corresponds to an 7.6% increase compared to the same period of last year (2.51 million t). In comparison with the first nine months of 2020 (2.29 million t), German manufacturers recorded an overall increase of 17.8%.
