Article by Philipp Matzku (translated by Eva Guzely) | 29.06.2021 - 10:20

According to Destatis, German sawmills produced a total of 6.508 million m³ of softwood lumber (including planed timber) in the first quarter which is an increase of 436,000 m³ compared to the same period of last year. However, output is still below the 7 million m³ forecast by the Association of the German Sawmill and Timber Industry (DeSH) in May. Already last year, softwood lumber production had risen by 7% to 6.072 million m³ (2019: 5.5655 million m³).
