Russian Segezha Group plans to build a glulam production facility in the town of Segezha in the Republic of Karelia for an overall investment sum of around RUB 13.4 billion (approx. €159 million). The plant is to go into operation in 2023 and have a planned capacity of 240,000 m³ of glue-laminated timber products for Russia, the EU and Japan.

The new production site will be built near the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill JSC, which is the group’s most important company in the Republic of Karelia. The wood chips which accumulate during production will be processed in the Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill JSC, thereby creating synergies between the new production site and the existing mill. This is according to information published by Segezha Group on its website.
