The purchase price index (spruce/fir; dried) fell by 6.4% to 237.6%. Year on year, on the other hand, it rose by 170%.
The sales price index for KVH bars sold to timber trade (spruce/fir, non-visible; 100% = average value 2014) fell by 9.7% to 232.6%. The index for list KVH sold to timber trade decreased by 10.3%, reaching 227.9% in August. Compared to the same period of last year, however, the values are 153% and 142% higher, respectively. The sales price indices for KVH bars and list goods sold to timber trade fell by around 6% in August, to 232% and 228%, respectively. Year on year, the index values were up by 156% and 140%.
The assessment of the business situation has become a lot more negative in August. 58% of KVH producers describe it as bad, 33% as satisfactory and only 8% describe their business situation as good.
An even more drastic change can be seen in the order backlogs. Compared to July, 92% of the KVH producers who took part in the survey reported a decrease in their order backlog, whereas it remained unchanged for 8% of the respondents.
There have been increases in stock levels of raw wood and the end product. 67% of the respondents reported an increase in raw wood stock levels. As to the end product, stock levels were higher than a month ago at 75% of the surveyed KVH producers.
