In the first two months of this year, 298,738 m³ of laminated timber were exported which is 3% more compared to the 290,157 m³ exported in the same period of 2019. This is according to Statistik Austria.
The biggest volume, i.e. 110,329 m³, was exported to Italy where Austrian exporters recorded a 7.6% increase. Laminated timber producers saw the strongest growth in shipments to Sweden and France. The quantity shipped to Sweden increased by 722% from 397 m³ in January and February 2019 to 3,263 m³ in the same period of 2020. In France, there was a growth of 16% which brought the volume from 25,096 m³ to 29,173 m³.
The most marked decreases were recorded in exports to Norway (4,471 m³; -15%), Spain (12,704 m³; -14%) and to other countries (23,451 m³; -17%).
