The site was chosen because of its vicinity to the region’s furniture industry and the availability of staff. The Interstate 85 and the international airport Charlotte Douglas are only a few kilometers away.

The planning of the production site stretches over three phases of a 15-year plan. The first phase – an investment of US-$ 500 million – involves the completion of offices and training and design centers as well as production machines for thermally fused laminates and chipboards, which are to be started up in the second half year of 2020. The two additional phases consist of all necessary expansions or additional productions.

Egger is currently looking for staff. 200 people have already been hired, and another 200 jobs are still open.
