Laminated timber exports grew slightly

Article by Fabian Pöschel (translated by Eva Guzely) | 10.07.2018 - 10:03

With a total of 370,000 m³, Austria’s glulam and CLT exports grew by 2% (+9,000 m³) in the first four months of the year. While sales on Austria’s main export market, Italy, fell by 9% (-13,000 m³) to 138,000 m³, other markets imported bigger quantities, thereby compensating losses in Italy.

Exports to France were particularly noticeable: They rose by 42% (+9,000 m³) to 33,000 m³. Sales in Germany also increased: from 62,000 m³ in the first four months of 2017 to 68,000 m³ this year (+10%; +6,000 m³).

In terms of percentage, exports to Great Britain have seen the biggest increase, soaring by 189% to 6,000 m³.
