The European Panel Federation (EPF) presented last year's production figures at the general assembly in Venice on the 7th and 8th of July. The production of panel materials increased by 3% to a total volume of 53.8 million m³. This includes the EU 28 as well as the EFTA states (European Free Trade Association, entailing the countries Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland).

A positive development is anticipated for all markets. In terms of raw materials supply, however, the procurement situation is getting increasingly difficult. According to the EPF, the situation in e.g. Germany, France and Italy can already be seen as critical, and the situation in Spain, Slovenia, Finland and Norway is assessed as 'just in time'. Countries like Austria, the Czech Republic or Poland on the other hand are looking at sufficient timber supply.
