Timber windows have shown a significant increase in market share in the UK following the market’s need to source energy efficient products made from sustainable materials. In response, Norvik subsidiary Byko-Lat is investing in its timber window and door factory in Valmiera, Latvia, and doubling the manufacturing capacity in 2016. Demand is expected to grow at a rate of 20-30% per annum on key markets such as the UK.
After 5 years of growing in the UK market for timber windows and doors, Byko-Lat and trading company PWG have also renewed their contractual relationship for a further 5 years. Under the contract, Byko-Lat will manufacture timber windows and doors sold by the PWG Group brands of Timber Windows and Dale.
