German particleboard manufacturers exported 542,000 m³ including OSB in the first quarter. The amount thus pretty much remained on last year's level (546,000 m³; –0.8%). Germany's biggest customer, Poland, bought 66,000 m³ or 9.2% less than in the first quarter of 2014. Exports to the UK were up 18.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 60,000 m³. Shipments to the Netherlands also soared 34.6% to 56,000 m³.
With 48,000 m³, Austria ordered 24% fewer particleboards in the first three months than last year. Noteworthy are increased export volumes to Italy which skyrocketed 93% to 21,000 m³.

In January and February, Germany imported 6.7 million pallets, i.e. 31% fewer than last year. In exports, a decrease of 15% was recorded, which brought the total number down to 4.1 million pallets.
