Construction turnover at +13% in January

In January 2020, the German construction sector saw its turnover grow by 13% year on year, as Destatis reports.

All segments of the German construction sector recorded year on year increases in turnover. In the construction of buildings, turnover grew by 13% compared to January 2019 and in civil engineering it rose by 12%. Among the segments of the entire construction sector, which see the highest turnovers, the construction of roads (+22%) as well as the segment “roofing and tinsmithing” (+19%) recorded particularly marked increases.
