Comparing over a longer period of time, the number of authorized apartments between January and September 2019 is on a high level. Looking at figures since the turn of the millennium, more than 250,000 apartment construction permits between January and September were only issued in the years since 2016.
Compared to the same period last year, even though the number of authorized apartments declined 1.9% it is still on a similar level as in 2016, Destatis (Federal Statistical Office) reports.
