Destatis reports a 3% increase of incoming orders in June compared to May (adjusted for season and calendar). In the less volatile three-month comparison, however, the real volume of season- and calendar-adjusted incoming orders between April and June dropped by 9.6% compared to January till March. This decline is a result of the by now very high level of incoming orders due to a particularly good development of the previous reporting months, the report states.

Compared to the same month last year, the real incoming orders level in the main construction business gained 4.4% in June. In the H1, an increase of 5.3% was registered compared to the same period last year.

Destatis' nominal figure for incoming orders in companies with 20+ employees is about €7.6 bn. (+2.9% compared to June 2018). An even higher level of incoming orders in June was last seen 25 years ago (1994: €7.9 bn.) Compared to the H1 of last year, incoming orders nominally grew 10.8%.
