Compared to 2016 and 2017, however, construction starts figures for both June as well as the 1H as a whole continue to be lower. In the June of 2016, 4% more units were built, and the value of the first six months was 3% higher. As for 2017, June even saw 7% more construction starts and in the first six months, construction activities were 5% higher than in the current year.
The surge in construction activities is delayed compared to previous years. Last year, for instance, the increase was both earlier (April) and stronger (+17%).
