April a possible turning point

In the first four months of this year, the number of new housing starts decreased by 6% compared to last year. From January to April 2017, 307,269 units were built. In 2018, the number dropped to 289,271 units. The first three months have seen at times marked declines, January being the weakest month with new housing starts at -13%. In March, they have fallen by 8%, but were more or less stable at 84,226 units in April.
