Carpentry and timber engineering trades: +15.5%

In February, the sales figures of Germany's main construction trade were 10.5% higher than in the same period last year. As data by Destatis show, also headcounts increased by 3% compared to the same month of 2017.

In the above-ground construction sector, sales increased by 7.4%, and underground construction by 10.5%. All branches of trade of the main construction trade reported turnover gains compared to last year. The strongest increases were reported for the roofing and construction tinsmith sector with +18.4% and timber engineering with 15.5%. The lowest turnover gain was observed for the branch other underground construction (+2.8%).
