Interest in cross-laminated timber is also increasing in Northern Europe. In the past two months, the Slovenian engineering company Ledinek, Maribor, has sold two X-Press CLT presses in Finland and another one in Latvia.

The vocational school Lappia ordered a unit capable of producing 8 m long CLT panels. Crosslam Kuhmo, Kuhmo/FI, will manufacture up to 12 m long elements which makes the company the first commercial CLT-manufacturer producing at that length. The Latvian company Cross Timber Systems will generate long solid wood elements in Riga up to 14 m. In addition, an Austrian CLT producer is expanding production by another line, company sources in Maribor say.
